INTRODUCING OUR CHEF
Luigi Gandola
Passionate about every aspect of nature, Luigi spent his childhood in Bellagio, between the kitchens and the woods, with his father Mino, who revealed all the secrets of the Lake Como region to him.
He attended hotel school, where he learned the techniques and fundamentals that allowed him to spread his wings, first to the kitchens of Europe and then at the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este at Cernobbio, where he stayed for 7 years. In 2005 he returned to Bellagio to take over the family restaurant, the Salice Blu, becoming chef patron and transforming it into an experience restaurant.
A FAMILY STORY
Tradition and passion
On 16th August 1973, Flora and Mino Gandola opened the doors of their “Salice Blu” at Bellagio. The restaurant almost immediately became a benchmark for good cooking, thanks to its fresh, carefully selected ingredients and its good Italian wine.
Mum Flora still looks after the herb garden, and dad Mino is still beside us to give advice.
Since 2022, Chef Luigi Gandola has managed the restaurant with his wife, Camilla.
